40 Years ago last Friday, the 20th September, this amazing ship was launched, 40 years and still looking sleek, dynamic and just plain beautiful.
November 2008 will see the beginning of her final voyage.

The liner was launched by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on 20th September 1967 and these are just a few of her vital statistics:
She carries 1,900 passengers and 1,015 Crew, a total of: 2,915.

A few technical details:
9 MAN B&W Diesel Engines - 10,625 kW at 400 rpm
2 propellers - 22 ft diameter, 42 tons
2 bow thrusters - 1,000 hp, variable pitch
4 Brown Brothers stabilizers - 12 ft length, 70 sq ft area each
Rudder - 75 tons.
